Guile Journals #1 and #2

 Entry #1

Though Captain Zord has so kindly given my companions and I rooms of our own, I chose to bunk with Roelina for a night. In conversing with the tabaxi, I’ve determined her kleptomaniacal tendencies are out of neither greed, nor malice, for she seems to view thievery as little more than a game. As such, I will happily engage her in this game, for though she is skilled in sleight of hand there is little I own that I am particularly attached to.

Except, of course, my dress from Mystra, but Roe seems far more interested in small trinkets, so I’m not worried. My arcane focus is merely for show, and my true source of power is something I would happily give away at the first opportunity.

In speaking of Mystra, I worry about Salin. He has been pensive as of late. The poor gnome has been downcast ever since her disappearance. When he isn’t taking solace in gambling and card games, he is often alone.
I will give him some time to mourn, but loneliness can only heal so many wounds before opening new ones. I may approach him soon to ensure he’s alright if he is still so somber by the time we get to shore.

Entry #2

Waukeen be praised! Antonio has agreed to be my fencing teacher! In a matter of a few lessons the tiny flicker of interest I had in swordsmanship has blossomed into a fiery passion.
I practise whenever I can. I am no longer troubled by the inevitable day I lose my magic, for soon I shall deliver the helpless and downtrodden with a silvered blade, free of the burden of Blight.

Meanwhile, Roe and I have kept up our game. I have discovered that while she is skilled at taking things, I am equally skilled in keeping away. After stealing a letter of hers, I disguised myself as a new member of the crew, and carried on my duties in new clothes and a fake beard. 

I hate to brag... I must say I make for a rather handsome man. I’ve let Captain Zord in on my disguise, Antonio and Salin have already seen through it. It is only a matter of how long I can keep up the act until Roe catches on as well.
