Characters, like ourselves, sometimes like to record the events that alter and define their lives. Sometimes we wish they would just burn them.

Luskan

Built on the ruins of the ancient and magical orchish city of  Illusk. Luskan was a port town frequented by pirates, thieves and other disreputable folk interested in money. Although life within its walls is dangerous, Luskan was a very lucrative city. Pirates brought in their goods to be sold to the black market, northern traders frequented the place as a rest stop on their way to the sea ports during the warmer months, ready to buy exotic ornaments, several taverns traded in ale and other spirits, the drugs and slave trades were rife as they plied their trade during the night-time.

As of 1372 DR, the city was officially ruled by the five High Captains, all former pirate lords and each of which led a faction called a "ship" named after its respective captain: Ship Taerl, Ship Baram, Ship Kurth, Ship Suljack and Ship Rethnor.

Kurth (Male human) - Though Luskon does not have a single ruler, its generally accepted that Captain Kurth is the leader and most powerful of the other pirates, known as First Ship. He controls all shipping in and out of Luskon, making it very hard to do business in the city without his blessing.

Baram (Male Human) - If necessity is the mother of innovation, Captain Baram is a genius. Commanding the fishing fleets operating in Luskon, Baram has risen to Second Ship because of how vital the food supply is to the city.

Suljack (Female Human) - The most fearsome and deadly beside Kurth, Suljack is the "queen of piracy" and handles all the looting and raiding around Luskon.

Taerl (Female Half-Orc) - Recently elevated from 5th Ship, Taerl is used to being handed the less profitable jobs and has earned by a iron hand and some lucky gambles her new position. She handles a wide variety of work.

Ranthor (Male Human) - Reduced to providing security in the streets and general security, Renthor is primarily involved in handling sales, moving goods and keeping the flow of coin through Luskan unhindered. His men are known for being bullies and picking fights just to add a few gold to their purses.
